What is This Place?
This is my venue to write and collect my thoughts, opinions and stories. Ultimately, I’d like to focus on one subject, but until I find one topic to focus on (this has never happened at any point in my life, so don’t expect it here), this space could be filled with anything from personal stories about running to marketing critique to the inevitable complaints about sports writers being idiots.
Who’s Writing This Garbage?
Hi. My name’s Mike. I’m writing this garbage. I work in digital marketing, make a strange habit of running all the time, listen to music by the bucket-load, am mildly obsessed with baseball, and love judging everything. Also, please note that all of the thoughts and views expressed here are my own, and in no way do they reflect my employer, colleagues, friends, family, or stuffed animal collection.
Why “Mostly America”?
If you’ve been to Disney World in the past 20 years, you probably found yourself at the “Muppet*Vision 3D” feature in the MGM/Hollywood Studios park (if you haven’t been to Disney in the past 20 years, at least two members of my family think you’re wasting your life). During the movie, Kermit the Frog asks one of my favorite Muppets, Sam Eagle, what his contribution to the film will be. Sam says it will be a salute to all nations, but mostly America. I’m not trying to recreate the amusement that comes from that moment because there is absolutely nothing that can compete with Muppets. I’m just saying that’s where the site title comes from.
